Our state is celebrating the silver jubilee year of its establishment. We have taken steps towards developed Chhattisgarh. The development journey of Chhattisgarh is moving forward with the mantra of health to prosperity. Today Chhattisgarh is becoming a big center of medical tourism. There was a time when people used to go to Delhi-Mumbai for treatment of many serious diseases. Today, the most serious diseases are being treated by the service-oriented doctors of Raipur city. Diseases ranging from heart and kidney transplant to cancer are being treated with state-of-the-art technology in the hospitals of Raipur. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said this during the swearing-in ceremony of the Indian Medical Association today.
Chief Minister Sai said that the state government is making every possible effort to provide better medical facilities to the citizens. Along with providing better resources and developing necessary infrastructure, to strengthen the medical system from primary health centers to district hospitals, – Doctors and medical staff are also being recruited. Our government has implemented Ayushman Bharat Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana as well as Shaheed Veernarayan Singh Health Scheme to expand health facilities in the state. Under Ayushman Yojana, Rs 5 lakh will be provided to poor families and all categories of citizens above 70 years of age. Free treatment up to Rs 50 thousand is being provided to APL families. Apart from this, assistance is also being provided from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund for the treatment of complex diseases.
Chief Minister Sai said that there are a total of 14 medical colleges in Chhattisgarh including 10 government and 4 private medical colleges.
Buildings of four new medical colleges are being constructed in the state. Health services will expand with the construction of medical colleges in Janjgir Champa, Kabirdham, Manendragarh and Geedam. A large number of people from abroad are also coming to Chhattisgarh for treatment. It is a matter of pride for us. He said that organizations like IMA can play an important role in becoming the voice of doctors and strengthening the relationship between doctors and patients.
While addressing the program, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal said that work is being done to make health services easier and stronger in Chhattisgarh. Only with the cooperation and dedication of doctors, we will be successful in taking Chhattisgarh to a new level in the field of medicine. He said that the government has increased the financial powers to improve the medical facilities in the medical colleges of the state. Highlighting in detail the achievements of the state in the field of medical services and medical education, he said that Chhattisgarh is the leading state in the country in sickle cell screening. One crore 29 lakh people have been screened here. Establishment of Sickle Cell Research Institute and facility of bone marrow transplant will start in the state. An amount of Rs 48 crore has been sanctioned for this. He assured IMA Raipur that the government will provide all possible support to the doctors and in the works of public interest. Former MLA Dr. Vimal Chopra also addressed the program.
Newly elected President of IMA, Dr. Kuldeep Solanki said that the association will provide all possible support for the expansion of medical services and medical education in the state. He said that IMA will fulfill the responsibility of coordination between the government and the medical service providers with full commitment. MLA Sarvapurandar Mishra, Sunil Soni, IMA Chhattisgarh President Dr. Prabhat Pandey, Dr. Purnendu Saxena, officials of the Indian Medical Association and a large number of doctors were present in the program.
