Apart from government health institutions, sterilization facilities are also being provided in 49 private health institutions of Bhopal. Free sterilization can be done in these private health institutions. Under the Family Welfare Programme, 49 health institutions of Bhopal have been empaneled for sterilization by the Office of the Chief Medical and Health Officer. This recognition has been given by the District Quality Assurance Committee to hospitals with a minimum of 10 beds registered under the Nursing Home Act.
An amount of Rs 1000 will also be paid to the beneficiaries who undergo sterilization in private hospitals, which will be through direct benefit transfer. For this, the hospital will submit a copy of the beneficiary’s Aadhar card and bank passbook to the office of the Chief Medical and Health Officer. Payment will be made to the beneficiary’s account by the CMHO office through e-finance system.
Chief Medical and Health Officer, Bhopal, Dr. Prabhakar Tiwari said that sterilization and other family welfare services are already being provided in government hospitals. Private hospitals are also being linked with the aim of making access to family welfare resources easier.
