The EdTech (education technology) sector in India is growing rapidly, and according to a recent report, the sector could grow from $7.5 billion by 2024 to $29 billion by 2030. This report was released during the 19th edition of India Digital Summit. It has been prepared by Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) and consultancy firm Grant Thornton.

Will the contribution of EdTech increase in economic development?
According to the report, the edtech sector is going to contribute significantly to India’s economy. By 2029, the sector is expected to contribute 0.4% to India’s gross domestic product (GDP). This contribution was just 0.1% in 2020, which shows that the influence of this sector is growing rapidly.

The report said that the edtech sector is driving innovation in India and creating new opportunities. Technological changes in the field of education are creating new possibilities for students and teachers.
