Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan held a meeting with the Agriculture Minister, Rural Development Minister and Revenue Minister of the Karnataka Government regarding the development plans of Karnataka. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan also briefed the media about this meeting. Told, “I have reviewed the schemes of the Government of India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s resolve in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana is that everyone should get a permanent house. In September, we had given approval to build 2 lakh 57 thousand 246 houses in Karnataka. We have also allocated money for this.”
He further said, “Today we have increased the number of houses for the poor of Karnataka. Overall, apart from those houses in Karnataka, we have allotted 4 lakh 67 thousand 580 houses for the poor. BJP’s resolve is that every poor should get a permanent house.”
Chauhan also advised the state government to utilize the funds given by the Centre. He said, “Karnataka government should complete the work on these houses quickly so that permanent houses can be built for all the poor. The government should utilize the funds that we had released earlier. The Agriculture Minister had demanded additional funds under the Magnetization Scheme, which has been accepted. The three ministers have submitted some more memorandums to me. Our aim is to make developed Karnataka along with developed India. Our aim is to leave no stone unturned in the development of Karnataka under the leadership of the Prime Minister.”
He further said, “I urge the state government to spend the funds properly on time. The Government of India will leave no stone unturned for the betterment of Karnataka. Today, during my visit to Karnataka, I am also going to meet betel nut producing farmers.”
Shivraj Singh Chauhan appealed to the opposition to do politics of public welfare. The Union Minister said, “We do politics of development, politics of public welfare. There are many schemes in which Karnataka has not spent funds, but I do not want to go into that today.” Regarding the election of Karnataka BJP President, Shivraj Singh Chauhan said that the process for the election of the state president will start soon.
