A real estate businessman from Vikhroli in Mumbai received death threats from an unknown caller in the name of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, Chhota Shakeel and Bishnoi and demanded ransom. The caller initially demanded Rs 3 crore and later reduced it to Rs 1 crore. Following the complaint of the victim, Mumbai Parksite Police has registered a case against unknown accused and started investigation. The Anti-Extortion Cell of Mumbai Crime Branch is conducting a parallel investigation. The complainant is a 43-year-old real estate businessman, who lives in Parksite area of ​​Vikhroli, Mumbai.

According to media reports, on October 17, 2024, the businessman had received a call from an unknown person. The caller claimed that he was calling from Dubai. He introduced himself as Dawood Ibrahim and later Chhota Shakeel and demanded extortion money of Rs 3 crore. The caller, speaking in Hindi, warned and said that you have been earning a lot recently. Therefore, you have to pay. When the businessman asked the identity of the caller, he threatened him and said, “Do you know Bishnoi? Don’t involve the police, otherwise I will find out,” and then disconnected the call.

Initially the businessman avoided disclosing the incident. But, after receiving continuous threats in the name of Dawood, Chhota Shakeel and Bishnoi, he decided to approach the police. She lodged a complaint against an unknown person at Parksite police station. Acting on the complaint, the police registered a case on charges of extortion. Local police and crime branch anti-extortion cell officials are investigating the case. Further efforts are underway to trace the accused and ascertain the veracity of the threats.
