In order to quickly provide police assistance to the people in the state, the number of call dispatchers in the Dial-100 service will be increased. Currently there are 24, which will be increased to 40. Auto dispatch technology will be implemented through Artificial Intelligence (AI).
This will speed up dispatch of Dial-100 vehicles. The maximum capacity of the call center is currently 80 seats which will be increased to 100. The number of vehicles will also be increased from 1000 to 2000 in a phased manner. These facilities will increase after the arrival of the new operating company.
Police Headquarters officials said that an expert committee will be formed, which will prepare the specifications of the Dial-100 vehicle, call center and other resources. For example, vehicle seating capacity, ground clearance etc.
After this, a tender will be issued for the selection of the company to operate the vehicles. The government on Wednesday approved the detailed project report (DPR) of Dial-100 service.

Dial-100 vehicles operating in the state were to be replaced in five years with the coming of the new company. There has been a delay of four years in the selection of the new company, due to which the condition of the vehicles is bad.
Most of the vehicles have traveled more than three lakh kilometres.
The MDD boxes showing the GPS location of the incident have been damaged in the vehicles.
Out of 1000 vehicles, 100 to 150 are always defective. In such a situation, there is delay in people getting police assistance.
