Water, land, sky, deep sea or boundless space, India is protecting its interests everywhere.

Mumbai
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has said that whether in water, land, sky, deep sea or infinite space, India is protecting its interests everywhere. Modi said this on the occasion of the induction of three major naval warships – INS Surat, INS Nilgiri and INS Waghshir – into the naval fleet at the Naval Dockyard here on Wednesday. He said that we are taking a big step towards strengthening the Navy of the 21st century and today’s India is becoming a major maritime power in the world.

He said, “This is the first time that a destroyer, a frigate and a submarine are being commissioned together and the most proud thing is that all these three major platforms are Made in India. Today’s India is becoming a major maritime power of the world. ,

He said that today India is being recognized as a reliable and responsible partner throughout the world and especially in the Global South. He said, “India works in the spirit of development, not expansionism. India has always supported an open, secure, inclusive and prosperous Indo-Pacific region. India has emerged as the first country to extend a helping hand in the entire Indian Ocean region. Be it water, land, sky, deep sea or boundless space, India is securing its interests everywhere. ,

Addressing the program on this occasion, he said that ‘Today is a big day for India’s maritime heritage, the glorious history of the Navy and the Self-reliant India campaign. Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj had given new strength and new vision to the Indian Navy. Today, on this sacred soil of theirs, we are taking a huge step towards strengthening the Navy of the 21st century. This is the first time that a destroyer, a frigate and a submarine are being commissioned together. And the most proud thing is that all three are Made in India.

Prime Minister Modi said that ‘today’s India is becoming a major maritime power of the world. This is also reflected in the platforms that have been launched today. Now like our Nilgiri is dedicated to the maritime power of the Chola dynasty. Surat Warship is a reminder of the period when India was connected to West Asia through the ports of Gujarat. These days, both these ships, along with this the Waghshir Submarine is also being commissioned. These new frontier platforms will provide new capabilities to both India’s security and progress.

All three platforms are very special

  • INS Surat is one of the largest and best destroyers in the world. It is the fourth warship of the P15B Guided Missile Destroyer Project. 75 percent indigenous material has been used in it.
  • INS Nilgiri is the first warship of the 17A Stealth Frigate Project. It has been designed with long-term survivability and stealth capability at sea. It has been designed by the Warship Design Bureau of the Indian Navy.
  • ‘INS Wagshir’ is the sixth Scorpene submarine built under the ongoing ship-submarine building project P-75 to augment the naval fleet of the Navy.
