New Hero Destiny 125 launched to compete with Honda Activa


Hero Destiny 125 : Ujjwal Pradesh, New Delhi. The country’s leading two wheeler manufacturer Hero Motocorp has launched the new generation Destiny 125 scooter in the Indian market. The company claims that its new scooter will run 59 kilometers (59 KM) in one liter of petrol. Apart from this, many new features have been given in Hero Destiny 125.

Hero Destiny 125 in three variants with new engine

The updated scooter has LED projector headlight, long seat and new engine. The scooter has been introduced in three variants – VX, ZX and ZX+. Its starting price has been kept at Rs 80,450 (Ex-Showroom). The new scooter will compete with Suzuki Access 125, TVS Jupiter 125 and Honda Activa 125 in the 125cc segment.

Built on the platform of Zoom XTech

The second generation Hero Destiny 125 is built on the platform of Zoom Xtech and changes have also been made in its design. The scooter has a metal front fender with LED headlight and taillight. A brand new H-shaped LED DRL and turn indicators will be available here. The design of the side panel has been completely changed. Many changes have also been made inside the scooter.

12-inch wheels

The scooter now has 12-inch wheels at both ends and the rear wheel will now get a thick tire of 100/80-12 size. Due to this the riding quality has become better. For this, the company has sharpened the rake by more than one degree and moved the swingarm pivot point towards the top of the scooter. Due to the new wheel, the wheelbase of Destiny 125 has increased by 57 mm.

Disc brake for the first time in Hero Destiny 125

ZX and ZX+ variants have 190 mm front disc brakes. This is the first time that disc brakes have been installed in the Destiny 125, while the base VX variant will get 130 mm drum brakes.

124.6 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine

The engine of Hero Destiny 125 has been updated. It will have a 124.6 cc single-cylinder, air-cooled engine, which generates power of 9 hp at 7000 rpm and torque of 10.4 Nm at 5500 rpm.

Hero says the calibration of the CVT has been changed to increase refinement and mileage. The company claims that the scooter has 59 km/l. (ICAT certified) mileage will be available. All three variants of the scooter come with CBS, side stand engine cut-off, boot light, USB charging port and external fuel filler.

19 liters of boot space under the seat

For storage, the scooter has 19 liters of boot space under the seat and a 2 liter storage cubby is provided on the front apron. There is also a luggage hook on the front apron with a maximum weight capacity of 3 kg. Apart from this, a new semi-digital instrument console has been provided in the scooter. It will have features like smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation and call/SMS alerts.
