Indian women’s cricket team created history in the third ODI against Ireland. Team India touched the figure of 400 runs for the first time in ODI cricket. India’s previous highest score was 370 runs but on the basis of centuries by Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal at Rajkot, Team India touched the mark of 400. India crossed the score of 400 runs in just 46 overs. This match has become historic for the Indian women’s cricket team because it is the first Asian team to cross the score of 400 in ODI.
How many times has 400 been crossed in women’s cricket?
For the sixth time in women’s cricket, a team has touched the figure of 400. The New Zealand team has scored more than 400 runs in ODIs four times. Australia has done this feat once. Team India is the first Asian team to cross the 400-run mark in ODIs. The interesting thing is that the figure of 400 has been reached against Ireland 4 times. Once against Denmark and once against Pakistan, a score of more than 400 was made. Team India has scored more than 350 runs in two consecutive matches, this has also happened for the first time in the history of Indian women’s cricket. New Zealand has scored more than 350 runs in ODIs three times in a row.
Team India broke its record in 72 hours
Team India had scored 370 runs in the second ODI against Ireland on January 12, which was its highest score in ODI, but in just 72 hours, Team India broke this record. Openers Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal had important contributions in taking Team India beyond 400. Pratika played an innings of 154 runs in 129 balls. This is his first century in ODI cricket. Whereas captain Smriti Mandhana scored 135 runs in just 80 balls. This player scored a century in just 70 balls and became the female Indian cricketer to score the fastest century in ODI cricket.
370/5- India made its highest score against Ireland in the second ODI played in Rajkot. Earlier, his highest score was 358 runs for 2 wickets against Ireland in 2017 and 358 runs for 5 wickets against West Indies last month.

90 balls- Jemimah Rodrigues took 90 balls to complete her maiden century, which is the joint second fastest century for India in Women’s ODI. This is the joint second fastest century by India in this format after Harmanpreet Kaur’s century in 87 balls against South Africa last year. Harmanpreet also scored a century in 90 balls against Australia in 2017.
3 century partnership- There were three century partnerships for the first wicket between Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Raval in 5 innings. Before them, only three opening pairs had made three or more century partnerships in a season in women’s ODI. Anju Jain and Jaya Sharma had four partnerships of more than 100 runs in 2003-04 and Rachel Haynes and Alyssa Healy in 2021-22, while Belinda Clark and Lisa Keightley also had three in 1999-00.

Earlier, India had hit 43 fours in the Vadodara ODI against West Indies last month. Only six times has any team hit more fours than India’s 44 fours in women’s ODI.

Team India scored 435 runs in 50 overs against Ireland. Apart from the centuries of Pratika Rawal and Smriti Mandhana, wicketkeeper Richa Ghosh played an inning of 59 runs. A total of 9 sixes and 48 fours were hit during Team India’s innings. Ireland bowled very poorly and also gave 29 extras.
