Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the water harvesting-public participation campaign which was started in Surat and Ahmedabad is also being started in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh today. After Khajuraho, Sagar and Rewa, this campaign is also being launched from Ujjain. The Chief Minister said that when our youth gets involved in this work, we will give a gift to Mother Earth, through this process the water reserves will increase. Water conservation is the best means to solve our problems. Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Patil said that due to the participation of social workers in the campaign being run in the country, awareness is also being created among the common people.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav and Union Jal Shakti Minister Patil launched the water conservation-public participation campaign in the Engineering College, Ujjain.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the purpose of linking youth power with the campaign is to make the youth understand the importance of nature and environment. The Chief Minister said that water is an important resource of our life. He said that this effort to ensure that village water remains in the village, water from ponds gets stored in ponds and to prevent rain water from flowing wastefully is wonderful in itself. He said that when Union Minister Patil told us about this campaign, we started a campaign to implement this scheme in Madhya Pradesh also. Social workers are participating in this campaign.
Bhoomi pujan was performed at the beginning of the program. In the campaign, pits will be drilled at various places with boring machines. Through these pits, rain water will be stored and conserved underground. This will increase the water level in nearby water sources. Besides this, water storage capacity will also increase.
Water Resources Minister Tulsiram Silavat, Ujjain in-charge Minister Gautam Tetwal, MP Anil Firoziya, MLA Anil Jain Kaluhera, public representatives, professors and college students were present at the launch of the campaign.
