Bilaspur
The BJP government has conspiratorially reduced the reservation of OBCs in the state. OBC reservation has ended in most of the district and district panchayats due to malicious amendments made in the reservation provisions in local body elections.
Congress will oppose it from the streets till the House. In this connection, a decision has been taken to arrest the backward classes on January 15 at the Civil Lines police station. District Congress Committee Rural President Vijay Kesharwani said these things. Discussed with journalists at Congress Bhavan on Sunday.
City President Vijay Pandey was also present on this occasion. He said that earlier 25 percent seats of 16 district panchayats and 85 districts of the state were reserved for candidates belonging to other backward classes. Now OBC reservation in scheduled areas has almost ended.
Reservation of Panchas is less in proportion to the population.
There are many panchayats in the plain areas, where about 90 to 99 percent of the population is OBC. But, the post of Sarpanch is not reserved for OBCs there. Reservation of Panchas is also less in proportion to the population. These seats, which were earlier reserved for OBC, have now been declared general.
After the malicious amendment made in the rules of reservation process by the Sai government, all the posts of District Panchayat Member, District Member and Panches in Scheduled Districts and Blocks which were reserved for Other Backward Classes, have now been declared as general seats.
BJP’s character is anti-reservation
Due to the bad intentions of the Bharatiya Janata Party government, candidates from other backward classes have been deprived of contesting the elections. The malicious amendment made by the Sai government in the context of reservation in local body elections is injustice to the OBC class.
The basic character of Bharatiya Janata Party is anti-reservation, when it was in opposition, it stopped the Chhattisgarh New Reservation Bill passed unanimously in the Assembly. There was a provision to give 32 percent reservation to Scheduled Tribes and increase from 14 to 27 percent reservation to Other Backward Classes. This bill, passed on December 2, is still pending in the Raj Bhavan due to the conspiracies of the BJP.
status of bilaspur district
In Bilaspur district only one seat out of 17 is reserved for OBC woman in constituency no. 1, not a single seat out of 17 is reserved for OBC man.
Similarly, in four District Panchayats of Bilaspur district, the posts of two District Panchayat Presidents have been kept vacant for Scheduled Caste women, one for unreserved women and one for unreserved District President.
Big loss in Bastar and Surguja division
There is a big loss to the reserved category in Bastar and Surguja divisions. The results of the conspiratorial anti-OBC changes made by this government in the provisions of reservation in local body elections are visible.
Five districts of Surguja division, Ambikapur, Balrampur, Surajpur, Korea, Manendragarh, Chirmiri, Bharatpur, Sonhat and seven districts of Bastar, Bastar, Kanker, Kondagaon, Dantewada, Narayanpur, Sukma, Bijapur including Manpur Mohalla, Jashpur, Gaurela-Pendra-Marwahi, and There is nothing left for other backward classes in Korba district.
