Another bridge of Mumbai Ahmedabad Bullet Train completed, 210 meter bridge connected on NH 48

Bullet train work is being completed rapidly in Gujarat. Now the construction of 210 meter long bridge on NH-48 in Gujarat for Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train has been completed. A 210 meter long PSC (Pre-Stressed Concrete) bridge designed to cross National Highway-48 (Delhi-Chennai) at Dabhan village near Nadiad in Kheda district of Gujarat was completed on 9 January 2025. The bridge consists of 72 precast segments with four spans of the configuration 40 m + 65 m + 65 m + 40 m and is constructed using the Balanced Cantilever Method, which is optimal for large spans. This bridge is located between Anand and Ahmedabad bullet train stations.

What is the update of the project?
Under the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Bullet Train Project, 253 km viaduct, 290 km girder casting and 358 km pier work have been completed by January 11, 2025. So far, bridges on 13 rivers and five steel bridges have been completed. Noise barriers have been installed in approximately 112 km stretch. Track construction work has started at many places in Gujarat. The 21 km Mumbai Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project tunnel is under construction between BKC and Thane in Maharashtra. Seven mountain tunnels are being constructed in Palghar district of Maharashtra through NATM. A mountain tunnel has been completed in Valsad district of Gujarat.

Trial run likely in 2026
It is expected that the trial run of Bullet Train will start in the year 2026. The work of Gujarat Surat Bullet Train and Ahmedabad Bullet Train Station has also reached a very advanced stage, when the Bullet Train will run from this place to Mumbai. It is ready to become Sabarmati Multimodal Transit Hub. The maximum speed of the bullet train on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route will be 350 km per hour. If the bullet train stops at 12 stations, it will complete the journey of 508 km in 3 hours. Out of these, 8 stations will be in Gujarat and 4 stations are in Maharashtra. It is believed that the speed of India’s first indigenous bullet train will be 280 kilometers per hour. Initially it will run at a speed of 250 kilometers per hour. The dream of the first bullet train in India is nearing realization. Trials are planned in 2026 and it is planned to be launched for the general public by 2029 covering a 508 km route from Ahmedabad to Mumbai.
