Raipur,

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai today attended the India International Rice Summit 2025 organized at a private hotel in the capital Raipur. Union Food and Commerce Minister Piyush Goyal was also associated with this program through video conferencing. Addressing the program, Union Minister Goyal said that the Central Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi has worked to increase the dignity and respect of the farmers of the country. Decisions are being taken in the interest of farmers to double their income. He said that Chhattisgarh is called the rice bowl. Chhattisgarh has paddy in abundance. There is a need to do value addition and branding of the rice here and send it to the world markets. Farmers and traders will benefit from this. He appealed to the farmers to adopt improved agriculture and grow crops that consume less water.

Union Minister Goyal further said that the Central Government and the State Government are working together for the betterment of farmers and progress of the state of Chhattisgarh. He congratulated and congratulated Rice Millers Promoters for organizing the India International Rice Summit in Chhattisgarh. He said that the Central Government is paying special attention to the production of nutritious rice, so that farmers get good prices for their products. This event of Rice Millers Promoters in Chhattisgarh will prove to be a milestone for the farmers of Chhattisgarh as well as the prosperity of the state.

Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, while addressing the India International Rice Summit, said that on this very day, Lord Ramlala was seated in the Ayodhya Dham temple. Chhattisgarh is the maternal home of Mata Kaushalya and the maternal home of Lord Ram. On the first anniversary of Ram Lalla’s enthronement, the Chief Minister congratulated and congratulated the people of the state and the country.

Chief Minister Sai said that organizing the India International Rice Summit in the rice bowl state of Chhattisgarh is a matter of pride for Chhattisgarh. He said that Chhattisgarh is known throughout the country for its paddy. Now we have to take this identity to the international level. Nowhere else are there as many varieties of paddy as we have here.

The Chief Minister said that I am a farmer’s son. I have plowed the field with my own hands. I have good experience in farming. Therefore, I can say that there are so many varieties of paddy in the villages of our state, whose names may not be known to everyone. When the country became independent, my grandfather was a nominated MLA, but he always had an association with farming. The paddy they planted was so fragrant that the entire field was fragrant. People passing by the house where rice was cooked would know from the smell that rice was being cooked. There is a need to bring such species of Chhattisgarh to the fore.

The Chief Minister further said that we are giving the highest price for paddy to our farmers. Due to this, the area under cultivation in the state has not only increased but the number of farmers has also increased. Where earlier 24 lakh farmers were registered, now more than 27 lakh farmers have been registered. The Chief Minister said that farmers get good profits in paddy crop with less hard work. Chhattisgarh’s rice should be exported to foreign countries. I appeal to the exporters to get information about the paddy varieties here and encourage the export of paddy so that the farmers of the state can benefit.

Chhattisgarh Agriculture Minister Ramvichar Netam said that under the guidance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, it is working in the interest of farmers. The help being given to the farmers by the Chhattisgarh government and the decisions taken in their benefit have brought prosperity in farming and happiness of the farmers. With the aim of promoting export of rice from the state and benefiting the farmers, mandi fees have been completely abolished. We are trying to make Chhattisgarh an open market for the betterment of farmers. He appealed to the rice mill promoters to provide better prices to the farmers for their produce.

Indira Gandhi Agricultural University Vice Chancellor Girish Chandel, APEDA President Abhishek Dev, Alok Bisaria, Chhattisgarh Rice Millers Promoters Association President Mukesh Jain and rice millers and eminent stakeholders of the country were present in the program.
