The excise team, which had gone to carry out a raid after getting information about selling of illegal liquor, was attacked in Veerau village of Digauda police station area of Tikamgarh district. Here the accused pelted stones at the team and beat them with sticks and also snatched the service revolver of the Excise Sub Inspector.
In this incident, four employees of the excise team including a sub-inspector were injured. After the incident late on Friday night, the Excise team immediately reached the police station and a case was registered against the accused under various sections. The injured were sent to the hospital for treatment. Jatara SDOP Abhishek Gautam said that after registering the case, they have now started searching for the accused. Two teams are working for this.
Information was being received about selling illegal liquor
Actually, the Excise Department was getting information about selling of illegal liquor in Veerau village. The house where liquor was being sold illegally. There, first the excise constable was sent to Civil to collect liquor, from where the excise constable brought a quarter of country liquor.

In this situation, sale of liquor was confirmed. The excise team was also already present there. As soon as the sale of liquor was confirmed and the constable gave the signal, the entire team reached there. Excise sub-inspector Vijay Singh Chandol said that liquor was being sold by the woman. 20 quarters caught during the seizure. Meanwhile, her father-in-law came and asked to register a case against the husband instead of the woman. Then the woman got the person standing nearby to call her husband.
The husband attacked as soon as he arrived
In such a situation, the woman’s husband Santosh Yadav came and attacked her. It was told that along with Santosh Yadav, his two sons beat him with sticks and snatched the service revolver, from where the excise team started running away to save their lives and also threw stones. Excise constables Prahlad Prajapati, Virendra Vishwakarma and Mahendra Rai were also injured in the attack.
