Delta smelt fish cause of Los Angeles wildfires: Donald Trump

los angeles
The fire in Los Angeles, California, America, is continuously spreading. 11 people have lost their lives due to the fire, while lakhs of people have been rendered homeless. Even the houses of many Hollywood celebrities have been burnt to ashes.

There are varying explanations for the cause of the California wildfires and how they spread, but many are blaming diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) in the fire department. Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Bill Ackman have also posted about this.

Meanwhile, President-elect Donald Trump has blamed a small fish called Delta smelt for the wildfires.

DEI means death of people: Musk
Musk has posted several videos in which he blamed the fire department’s DEI initiative as the reason for the spread of the forest fire. Musk also criticized the way the department works and said that DEI means people dying.

Trump held Delta smelt responsible
America’s newly elected President Donald Trump attacked Governor Gavin Newsom on his Truth social handle over the Delta smelt fish. Trump said that the people of California were not cared for by giving less water to save a useless fish called smelt and today everyone is seeing the consequences of this.

Trump said that this disaster was self-inflicted. He said that I demand from this useless governor that clean and fresh water should be allowed to flow in California. Today there is no water for fire hydrants and no water for fire fighting planes.

Why did Trump say this?
In fact, Trump and many experts claim that water pumping capabilities have been banned due to rules made to save the endangered Delta smelt fish in the Sacramento-San Joaquin Delta. Trump says this has created a problem for firefighters access to water.

Even on Tuesday, three water tanks and some hydrants temporarily ran dry due to high demand, according to local officials. Due to which it is becoming difficult to control the fire.
