The youth has always been the priority of the Madhya Pradesh government. The government is also working to make the youth progress through sports and fields. The state government has also worked to provide jobs with respect to the youth through sports. On December 18, 2024, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav honored the sports talents of Madhya Pradesh and distributed an amount of Rs 25.389 crore to the players. Before this, on October 2, 2024, 18 Vikram Award winning players were given appointment letters for government service.
Madhya Pradesh government is working on various dimensions. Providing necessary resources and infrastructure to encourage players from rural and urban areas. The result of this is that on January 2, 2025, the Government of India announced to give Arjuna Award to Paralympic players of Madhya Pradesh Mr. Kapil Parmar and Ms. Rubina Francis. Both the players have brought pride to the state and the country. Both the players will be honored with the National Sports Award Arjuna Award for their outstanding performance in sports by President Smt. Draupadi Murmu on 17 January 2025 at Rashtrapati Bhavan.
To provide employment to the youth, recruitment is being done on about one lakh posts in all government departments. The target is to provide 2.5 lakh government jobs in the next 5 years. It has been decided to release the government examination calendar every year for the recruitment of posts. So far, appointment letters have been handed over to approximately 11 thousand candidates selected for government jobs.
Madhya Pradesh has recorded the lowest unemployment rate in the PLF survey of the Government of India. Start-ups are being provided financial assistance ranging from Rs 50 thousand to Rs 1.5 lakh for participation in national and international events. On the occasion of State Level Employment Day, self-employment loans worth Rs 5 thousand crore were distributed to a record 7 lakh youth. Under the Chief Minister Sikho-Kamao Yojana, a stipend of about Rs 41 crore was distributed to about 20 thousand selected people in the year 2024. More than 600 employment fairs were held in the state, in which appointment letters in the private sector were provided to more than 61 thousand applicants. It has also been decided to pay the fees for competitive examinations by the state government.
The state government decided to construct sports complexes in every development block. Construction of International Sports Complex worth Rs 985 crore is in progress in Bhopal. At present 111 stadiums/sports training centers are constructed, while 56 sports stadiums/training centers are under construction. Linking sports with education, the government has decided to build a sports college and synthetic track in Satna. Besides, the state government has also decided to build sports stadiums in all the districts of the state under One District-One Sports Complex. Not only this, the work of appointing 10 sub inspectors and 50 constables every year is also being done by setting sports quota in the police.
Agricultural subjects will be started in government colleges of the state and pilot training courses will be started in universities. Satellite campus of IIT is being started in Engineering College, Ujjain. The state government has also decided to establish incubation centers in 6 universities of Bhopal, Gwalior, Jabalpur, Indore, Ujjain and Rewa. In view of skill development and emerging trades, AI, machine learning, coding based education will be provided. At present a total of 268 government ITIs are operating. It has been decided to start 22 new ITIs this year. With this there will be an increase of 5280 additional seats. It has also been decided to start Solar Technician and Electric Vehicle Mechanic courses by developing Dewas, Chhindwara and Dhar into Green Skilling ITI.
The objective of the State Government is to provide international level sports training to the talented players identified by the Sports and Youth Welfare Department through Sports Academy. So far, 11 academies of 18 sports have been established in the state. So far, 107 sports infrastructure complexes of different 4 categories are ready in the construction/development of sports infrastructure and operation and maintenance of the available infrastructure. The state government is also working on performance, sports and community sports. Players of Madhya Pradesh are performing excellently in shooting, horse riding, hockey and water sports. Players of these sports will be given international exposure. Work is being done to promote community sports so that the basic facilities for sports are available to the youth in their own vicinity. At present, sports science and fitness have an important contribution in the performance of players. Sports science is being promoted in the state. International level Sports Science Center is also being established in Nathu Barkheda Bhopal. Keeping in view the limited financial resources of the government, sports infrastructure is being created and the available sports infrastructure is being built through PPP model.
In the direction of innovation, some or the other sport is popular in every district. Work is also being done to focus on that sport and make all the necessary resources available in the concerned district. There is also a plan to set up outdoor gyms in every assembly to make the youth aware of fitness.
