Former Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Kamal Nath has given clarification amid discussions about the ongoing internal tussle in the Congress in Madhya Pradesh. Also said that Congress is united in the state and there is no dispute of any kind.
Recently, a meeting of the Political Affairs Committee of the State Congress Committee was held and after that there was a strong discussion that Kamal Nath and former Chief Minister Digvijay Singh had expressed their displeasure on some issues. Amidst the discussions of resentment, Kamal Nath said that we all Congress people are united to strengthen the Congress and to bring the state system back on track. There is no question of dispute. He further said that the speculations being made in the media regarding the meeting of the State Political Affairs Committee held recently are baseless.
It may be noted that ever since the command of State President was handed over to Jitu Patwari after the assembly elections in the state, there have been allegations of distance between senior leaders and the leaders of the new generation. From the formation of the executive to other appointments, there were discussions about not taking the consent of senior leaders. Meanwhile, a meeting of the Committee on Past and Political Affairs was held and during this meeting some issues were discussed.
After the meeting, some such things came to light in which it was said that the current state president Jitu Patwari does not give importance to the opinion of his senior leaders Kamal Nath and Digvijay Singh. It was even said that Kamal Nath gets information about programs through newspapers, on which Digvijay Singh also agreed, yes, it is a different matter that the statements of these leaders were not revealed openly. All these things were definitely mentioned in the meeting and this is the reason why now Kamal Nath has to give clarification.
