In Kolhapur district of Maharashtra, a person put relationships to shame. Here a person committed such a scandal on the day of his niece’s wedding that the family would not be able to forget even if they wanted to. The man allegedly mixed poison in the food prepared for guests at his niece’s wedding ‘reception’ because he was against her marriage. Police gave this information on Wednesday. However, no one ate the food and its samples have been sent for testing, he said. Police officer said that this incident happened on Tuesday afternoon in Utre village of Panhala tehsil. While mixing the poison, some people caught the accused, but he managed to escape.

The girl grew up in her maternal uncle’s house
Panhala police station sub-inspector Mahesh Kondubhairi said that Panhala police has registered a case against a person named Mahesh Patil, resident of Utre village, on charges of endangering people’s lives. The accused is the maternal uncle of the woman. According to the police, the girl grew up in her maternal uncle’s house. Kondubhairi said, “The girl had recently eloped with a young man from the village and married him. Since this was not acceptable to Patil, he barged into a wedding reception ceremony held at a wedding hall on Tuesday and mixed poisonous substance in the food being prepared for the guests.” The sub-inspector said that when Patil was mixing poisonous substance in the food, people present around him tried to stop him and caught him.

Kondubhairi said, “After this he fled from the spot. “We have registered a case against him under sections 286 (negligence in relation to poisonous substance), 125 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) and other relevant provisions of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS).” He said that efforts are on to nab the accused. Police said that no one ate the food in which poisonous substance was mixed and its samples have been sent to the forensic lab.
