The virus spread in China has started gaining momentum in India also. Recently two new cases of this virus have been reported in Chennai. Including these two, a total of 6 cases of HMPV have been reported in India so far. Before this, two cases have been reported from Bengaluru, one case from Gujarat and one from West Bengal. Giving information, a health official said that two children have been found infected with human metapneumovirus. Both of them are currently undergoing treatment in Chennai. Both these cases have come to light from different hospitals. We are currently waiting for more information on this.
Earlier, Union Health Minister JP Nadda assured the public that the medical officers are closely monitoring the entire incident. The ministry is also keeping an eye on the ongoing increase in cases in the neighboring country.
