Bandhavgarh will become a clean tourist destination – Minister of State Dharmendra Singh Lodhi

An MoU was signed between Madhya Pradesh Tourism Board, Swachh Bharat Mission and Sahas Sanstha with the aim of developing Bandhavgarh National Park as a clean tourist destination and maintaining cleanliness in the surrounding area. Mission on behalf of MP Tourism Board, Principal Secretary Tourism and Culture and Managing Director, MP Tourism Board, Shri Shiv Shekhar Shukla, Mission on behalf of Swachh Bharat Mission in the presence of Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Tourism, Culture and Religious Trusts and Endowments, Shri Dharmendra Singh Lodhi. The MoU was signed by Director Mr. Dinesh Jain, Director Mr. Rajiv Gupta on behalf of CocaCola Foundation and Project Director Mr. Rajbir Singh on behalf of Sahas Sanstha.

Minister of State Shri Lodhi said that Project Clean Destination will develop Bandhavgarh as a clean tourist destination. Tourists will find a clean and beautiful environment along with exciting wildlife experiences. Minister of State Shri Lodhi congratulated the MoU and extended best wishes for the successful implementation of the project.

Under Project Clean Destination, an initiative is being taken to maintain cleanliness in the area around Bandhavgarh National Park in collaboration with Coca Cola Foundation. Awareness related to solid waste management, environment friendliness and cleanliness will be developed in hotels, resorts and nearby 7 gram panchayats in Bandhavgarh. For this, necessary storage centres, MRF, waste processing units, waste monitoring and management tools etc. will be developed in the Gram Panchayat.

It is noteworthy that in the year 2022, under Project Clean Destination, an innovative initiative was taken to maintain cleanliness in 30 villages around Panna National Park in Panna district. Considering the successful implementation and effective results of the project, it will be implemented in Banghavgarh. In this, about 2 tonnes of garbage generated regularly from the gram panchayats around Banghavgarh will be properly disposed and managed and a clean and beautiful environment will be created for the tourists. On this occasion, Additional Managing Director Tourism Board Ms. Bidisha Mukherjee and concerned officers were present.
