53 people died due to 7.1 magnitude earthquake in Tibet

An earthquake caused devastation on Tuesday in Shijang, the mountainous region of Tibet bordering Nepal. The 7.1 magnitude earthquake has caused huge loss of life and property. So far, 53 people have been reported dead and 38 people have been injured.

According to news agency Reuters, the earthquake has had the maximum impact on Shigatse city of Tibet. Here, big buildings have collapsed due to the earthquake, causing huge loss of life and property. China’s government news agency informed that an earthquake of 7.1 magnitude occurred in Dingri County of Shijang Autonomous Region.

Its effect was seen in many areas of India, Nepal, Bangladesh and Bhutan. Earthquake tremors were felt here also. In India, people were frightened by the earthquake in Bihar, West Bengal and many parts of North India and North-Eastern states including Sikkim on Tuesday morning.

Effect visible in Nepal

When earthquake struck Nepal’s capital on Tuesday morning, people ran out of their homes to save their lives. He went and stood on the roads and open places. Mira Adhikari, a resident of Kathmandu, told ANI that I was sleeping at the time (when the earthquake struck). The bed was shaking and I thought my baby was shaking the bed. He said I didn’t pay that much attention, but the window was shaking. I realized it was an earthquake. I then quickly called my child and evacuated the house. We ran to the open field.
