Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday virtually inaugurated the new railway terminal station of Charlapalli, located in Medchal-Malkajgiri district of Telangana. This state-of-the-art terminal has been built at a cost of Rs 413 crore. This station will provide advanced facilities to the passengers with eco-friendly design. Also, it will help in reducing the increasing pressure on the existing terminals of Secunderabad, Hyderabad and Kacheguda.
Key Features and Services
Charlapalli Railway Terminal has been developed as a coaching hub. About 24 trains will operate here every day. The new terminal provides seamless connectivity and modern facilities for passengers. It includes a huge circulating area, ample parking for two-wheelers and four-wheelers and a dedicated area for bus transport. The terminal will play an important role in promoting the industrial sector as well as in the operation of goods trains. Special train services have been started from here, including operation of Sankranti special trains during festivals.
Local development will get a boost
On this occasion, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy thanked Prime Minister Modi for the inauguration of the terminal and urged for starting the Regional Ring Rail project in the state. The Chief Minister said that this project has the potential to urbanize 60% of Telangana. Governor Jishnu Dev Verma, Union Coal Minister G. were present at the ceremony. Kishan Reddy, and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav were present. Many leaders and officials participated in the ceremony through virtual medium.
