In Chhattisgarh, the police has got a big success in the murder case of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar. Chhattisgarh Police’s SIT has arrested the main accused in the murder case from Hyderabad. Bijapur SP confirmed this and said that the main accused in the murder case is Suresh Chandrakar, who is a relative of journalist Mukesh Chandrakar. Suresh is a Congress leader and Mukesh had exposed his corruption.
Meanwhile, big revelations have been made in the autopsy report of Mukesh Chandrakar. Four pieces of his liver were found, while five ribs were broken. 15 fractures in the head, heart rupture and neck were found broken. Doctors said they had never seen such a murder in their 12-year career.
There is anger in Chhattisgarh after the murder case came to light. The journalists had appealed to the Chief Minister that the criminals involved in the murder of Mukesh Chandrakar should be arrested soon. Along with this, strict action should be taken against him and his property should be confiscated and financial assistance of Rs 1 crore should be provided to the journalist’s family. There is also a demand to give the status of martyr to the late journalist.
Memorandum submitted to Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai
The journalists have also submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister, demanding that at present the journalists of Chhattisgarh are not able to write their pens freely. Every day, efforts are being made at the administrative level by contractors, land mafia, liquor mafia and other anti-social elements to suppress the voice of journalists in different areas of Chhattisgarh. Some serious incident happens to those journalists who do not stop their pen. Due to this situation, journalism in Chhattisgarh is currently going through its most difficult phase.
Journalist protection law will be implemented soon: Vishnu Dev Sai
Earlier, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai assured to implement Journalist Protection Act in the state. On the question of journalists during his visit to Gariaband on Sunday, he said that the security law for journalists will be implemented soon. The government is with the journalists.
Let us inform that in March 2023, during the previous Congress’s Bhupesh Baghel government, the Chhattisgarh Media Workers Protection Bill, 2023 was passed in the Assembly. This bill has also been approved by Raj Bhavan. When the Chief Minister was asked, ‘Every time this law is discussed, but why is it not implemented?’ So he said, ‘You can analyze the actions of our government, but our intention is clear.’
