The day temperature dropped by 4 degrees to 21.4 degrees Celsius, while the night temperature dropped by 2 degrees to 13.2 degrees Celsius. Even though Sunday was not declared a cold day, the effect of cold was felt throughout the day. Cold winds have been blowing since Monday morning, due to which there is an atmosphere of shivering.
By 3 pm it was at 2500 meters. But in the evening it reached 1800 meters. The maximum temperature reached 21.4 degrees Celsius, which was four degrees lower than Saturday. The minimum temperature was 15.4 degrees Celsius.
New Year will be welcomed with cold
The city residents are currently getting respite from the cold. While the temperature has increased at night due to clouds, the sunlight during the day is also reducing the effect of winter. City residents will feel mild cold in the next week. With the farewell of the year 2024, the welcome of the new year will be with coolness.
While the night temperature will drop by three to four degrees next week, the day temperature will remain around normal. According to meteorologists of Bhopal based weather centre, at present a western disturbance is active over Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining northern Pakistan.

At the same time, the cyclone’s circle over Rajasthan and adjoining Haryana remains at a height of 1.5 kilometers. Due to this, rainfall activities were seen in Indore just now. Its effect will end in the next two days. After this, a drop in the minimum temperature will be seen. After this, western disturbance will become active around January 4.

According to meteorologists, the minimum temperature in Indore in the next week will be between 10 to 12 degrees, while the maximum temperature will be between 27 to 28 degrees. Due to absence of clouds, there will be a drop in minimum temperature.
Visibility reduced, fog accumulated
Meteorologists say that the temperature on the last night of the year can remain between 10 to 11 degrees Celsius. According to the current system, there is a possibility of severe cold starting from the first day of the new year in Madhya Pradesh, due to which icy winds will create a chilly atmosphere in the entire state. Rain has stopped in Indore since Sunday and the weather has cleared, but the temperature continues to fall. On Monday morning, there was light fog, visibility was 1100 meters, wind speed was 8 km per hour and it was also cloudy, due to which the effect of cold increased.
There will be an effect of cold wave
According to the Meteorological Department, the effect of cold wave and cold day may last for 20 to 22 days in January. In the initial days, there will be an effect of cold wave in the districts of Gwalior, Chambal and Ujjain divisions, after which its effect will be visible in Indore and surrounding parts also.
