Taliban fighters are attacking Ghulam Khan crossing indiscriminately. Pakistani Army says that Taliban is attacking their posts near the border with heavy and sophisticated weapons. At the same time, Taliban says that it is targeting anarchist elements on the border with Pakistan.

According to the report of Tolo News, the Taliban’s Defense Ministry says that violent clashes are taking place from both sides on the Durand Line. Taliban has captured two posts of Pakistani Army. Using heavy weapons, Taliban soldiers set on fire many posts of the Pakistani Army present on the Durand Line. During this period, 19 soldiers of the Pakistani Army were killed and the rest fled.

Taliban fighters have entered Gojgarhi, Mata Sangar, Kot Ragha and Tari Mengal areas and are firing heavily. Meanwhile, the Pakistani Army said that it has foiled infiltration attempts in Khurram and North Waziristan.

What is Taliban’s strategy?

The Afghan Taliban has long shown that it is not going to bow before any major military power. It challenged superpowers like America and Russia for years and ultimately forced them to return from Afghanistan. Pakistan neither has the military strength nor the economic capacity to face the Taliban.

Due to increasing activities on Mir Ali border, Pakistan has also put its army on alert. The deployment of troops in the border areas has been intensified. There is an atmosphere of fear among the local people and the situation is indicating a major conflict. As tensions increase, it remains to be seen in which direction this conflict between Pakistan and Taliban will progress.

The Taliban emerged in northern Pakistan in the early 1990s after the withdrawal of Russian troops from Afghanistan. In Pashto language, Taliban means students, especially those students who are inspired by radical Islamic religious teachings. It is said that radical Sunni Islamic scholars had laid their foundation in Pakistan with the help of religious institutions. Devvandi ideology has full influence on Taliban. The financial help coming from Saudi Arabia was considered responsible for the establishment of Taliban.

Initially the Taliban announced that their aim was to end foreign rule from Islamic areas and establish Sharia law and an Islamic state there. Initially, the people, fed up with the atrocities of feudal lords and corruption of officials, saw the Messiah in Taliban and in many areas the tribal people welcomed them but later fanaticism also ended the popularity of Taliban but by then Taliban had become so powerful. It was such that people’s hope of getting rid of it was gone.
