Raipur Mineral Department has taken major action against illegal transportation of sand. In Abhanpur area, action has been taken by arresting 12 vehicles illegally transporting sand without royalty slip. The Mineral Officer said that a fine of approximately Rs 3 lakh 28 thousand will be deposited from the said vehicles. The team of Mineral Department took this action on the intervening night of 28th and 29th December.
Let us tell you that in village Paragaon of Gobra Navapara area, the chest of Mahanadi is being continuously sieved from the Atal Chowk road situated between the colliery and Paragaon. For the last several days, illegal excavation and transportation is being done continuously with 3-4 Poklane machines. A few days ago also, on the instructions of Collector Dr. Gaurav Kumar Singh, 21 vehicles illegally transporting minerals without royalty slips were seized and fined. Fines were also deposited from these seized vehicles.
