Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that by ensuring timely availability of chemical fertilizers like urea, DAP, the use of cow-based bio-fertilizers should be encouraged in the state. Farmers, based on traditional experience and their own initiative, are using organic fertilizers on a large scale. It is also beneficial for the quality of the soil and the health of the earth. The amount of organic fertilizer being used needs to be calculated and documented. On this basis, a model should be developed to encourage farmers to increase the use of organic fertilizers in the state. This initiative of the state will be exemplary for other states also. To discourage the use of chemical fertilizers, alternatives like organic and natural fertilizers should be made available to the farmers. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav expressed these views during the review of fertilizer management in the state. Cooperative Minister Shri Vishwas Sarang, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Rajesh Rajoura, Additional Chief Secretary Shri Ashok Baranwal and other officials were present in the meeting held at the Chief Minister’s Samatva Bhawan.
Ensure arrangements for advance storage of fertilizers
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in order to provide timely fertilizers to the farmers as per the crop cycle, advance storage should be ensured at the major centers of fertilizer distribution. Instructions were given to develop an action plan for this. It was told in the meeting that the sowing of crops in the state is about 97 percent. In the current year, Urea, N.P.K., S.S.P. and M.O.P. The availability of fertilizers is the highest in the last four years. Till now, out of 35 lakh 68 thousand metric tons available, more than 32 lakh metric tons of urea has been distributed. Similarly, 9 lakh 29 thousand metric tons of NPK, 10 lakh 58 thousand metric tons of SSP, 91 thousand metric tons of M.O.P. Has been distributed. Similarly, 10 lakh 82 metric tons of DAP and 20 lakh 11 thousand metric tons of DAP + N.P.K. Has been distributed. In the meeting, monthly fertilizer arrangements in various districts were discussed and necessary guidelines were given.
