The roads of Kaushalya Vihar under Raipur Development Authority (RDA) are going to be illuminated soon. RDA has issued a tender worth Rs 3.5 crore for street lights and other electrical works in Kaushalya Vihar. The firm taking the work will also have to do maintenance for one year. A large number of houses have been built in various sectors of Kaushalya Vihar in the last few years.
Seeing underground electricity, cable and other facilities, people who reached Kaushalya Vihar are now facing various problems. Sometimes the residents of Kaushalya Vihar are troubled due to the problem of water and electricity and sometimes due to dumping of garbage. RDA had initially installed solar panels on the poles as street lights. In the beginning, the roads were illuminated by solar panels, but after a few months, the solar panels not only started getting damaged, but now most of the panels have been stolen. There is darkness on the streets of Kaushalya Vihar for the last several months.
Due to which there is a gathering of anti-social elements there. The situation is such that it becomes difficult to reach Kaushalya Vihar late in the evening. There is always a risk of robbery and accident. A lot of resentment is being seen among the residents regarding this, but now street lights are going to be installed in Kaushalya Vihar soon. RDA has issued a tender worth Rs 3.49 crore for electrical works and installation of street lights on poles in Kaushalya Vihar. The firm taking the tender will have to install street lights and do other electrical work and maintain it for one year. Tenders can be filled till January 17.
