India vs Australia: The fourth match of the 5-match Border Gavaskar Test series is being played at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The third day’s play ended due to rain. On the basis of Nitish Reddy’s century, India has scored 358 runs at the loss of 9 wickets against Australia’s 474 runs. Reddy is present at the crease after scoring 105 runs with the help of 10 fours and 1 six. Mohammad Siraj is supporting him. India is still 116 runs behind the hosts. There was a century partnership for the 8th wicket between Nitish Reddy and Washington Sundar, due to which Team India was successful in avoiding the follow on. Sundar scored 50 runs in 162 balls.

In the first innings of this match, the Australian team had scored 474 runs in the first innings. Steve Smith played a brilliant inning of 140 runs. Whereas Jasprit Bumrah took maximum 4 wickets.
Highlights of Team India’s innings
Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal came to open the first innings for India. But Rohit Sharma walked on the ball of Kangaroo captain Pat Cummins in the second over of the day. Whereas KL Rahul seemed to be in the right rhythm but he too got bowled by Pat Cummins’ ball.
After this, Kohli and Yashasvi together made a partnership of 102 runs. But then Yashasvi Jaiswal was out on 82 runs while trying to steal a run. After this, one more run was added to the scoreboard when Scott Boland got Virat Kohli, who was settled on the pitch, caught out by Alex Carey behind the wicket. Then nightwatchman Akash Deep (0) was also out on Boland’s ball. In this way the wickets of Yashasvi, Kohli and Akash Deep fell within 6 runs. When the second day’s play ended, India’s score was 164 runs for five wickets.
In the third day’s play, Ravindra Jadeja and Rishabh Pant made a good start and hit some good shots. Just when it seemed that this partnership was established, Rishabh Pant (28) lost his patience and while trying to hit a ramp shot, he was caught by Nathan Lyon at third man on the ball of Scott Boland. Then after some time Jadeja was also out on a personal score of 17 runs. Lion made Jadeja LBW. After this, Nitish Reddy and Washington Sundar made an excellent partnership of 127 runs, but Sundar (50) was out as soon as he scored. After this Bumrah was out on a duck.
