Jaipur fire incident: A tanker filled with LPG gas caught fire near Pushpraj Petrol Pump at Bhankrota on Ajmer Road at around 5.30 am on December 20. In this accident, some people were burnt alive while around 30 people got burnt. Due to the fire, more than 20 vehicles got caught in the fire on the highway. A sleeper bus running behind the tanker was also burnt to ashes. The sound of the explosion that occurred after the tanker caught fire was heard up to 10 kilometers away.
According to media reports, the fire was so severe that many vehicles within a radius of 300 meters were completely burnt and many fuel tanks kept bursting intermittently. The LPG pipeline passing under the highway also had to be closed to prevent the fire from spreading further. More than 30 ambulances and fire engines were sent to the spot. It was announced to give financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh from the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund to the families of those who lost their lives in the accident and Rs 50,000 each to the injured.
Mumbai boat accident: A major accident took place near the Gateway of India in Mumbai on December 18, when a Navy speed boat collided with a passenger boat named Neelkamal going from the Gateway of India to Elephanta Island. This incident took place between three and four in the afternoon. Engine testing work was going on in the navy boat. Suddenly the boat developed a fault and collided with Neelkamal. There were more than 100 people aboard the Neelkamal boat, which was going from the Gateway of India towards Elephanta Island. 15 people had died in this accident.
Wayanad Landslide: Life was badly affected in the landslide that occurred on July 30 in Wayanad, Kerala. More than 400 people died and more than a hundred went missing in the massive landslide that hit four villages in Wayanad. There was huge loss of life and property in this tragedy. It was also announced to provide financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh each to those who died in the landslide and Rs 50 thousand each to the injured.
Hathras Satsang Stampede: On July 2, there was a stampede during the satsang of Narayan Sakar Hari Bhole Baba alias Surajpal in Phulrai Mughalgarhi village of Sikandrarau, Hathras. 121 people were killed in this stampede. According to the information, the Sevadars had stopped the crowd to take out Baba’s convoy. During this time, people kept falling in the race to take care of his feet. In this case, the police had arrested more than 10 people and sent them to jail.
To investigate this entire matter, the Yogi government had constituted a three-member judicial commission under the chairmanship of a retired High Court judge. In this incident, a case was registered against Chief Sevadar Devprakash Madhukar and other servicemen under sections of culpable homicide, assault causing death, causing grievous hurt, taking people hostage, violating prohibitory orders and hiding evidence. Kanchenjunga train accident: At around 9 am on June 17, a goods train hit the Sealdah-bound Kanchenjunga Express from behind in New Jalpaiguri, West Bengal. Due to the collision, many bogies of Kanchenjunga Express derailed. Eight people were killed and many were injured in this accident.
