Abdul Rehman Makki, deputy chief of terrorist organization Lashkar-e-Taiba, has died in Lahore, Pakistan. According to the information, he died due to heart attack.

Abdul Rehman Makki, the culprit of 26/11 Mumbai attack, is a relative of terrorist Hafiz Saeed. America has declared Makki a global terrorist. He was wanted in India. Abdul Rehman Makki used to look after the terror funding of Lashkar-e-Taiba.

The United Nations Security Council had declared Makki a global terrorist under the 1267 ISIL (Da’esh) and Al Qaeda Sanctions Committee. Along with this, his assets were frozen. Travel ban was imposed and weapons were also banned.

Abdul Rehman Makki was listed on January 16 for being associated with ISIL and Al Qaeda and being involved in activities like terror financing, conspiracy, participation in conspiracy, recruitment by or with the support of Lashkar-e-Taiba. Makki was also the chief of Jamaad ud Dawa, the political wing of Lashkar. He has also been the head of the Foreign Relations Department of Lashkar.

Makki was declared an international terrorist

In the year 2023, the United Nations declared Makki an international terrorist. Earlier in the year 2020, Pakistan’s Anti Terrorism Court had sent Makki to jail for 6 months in the terrorist funding case. Ever since his sentencing in the terror funding case, the Jamaat-ud-Dawa deputy chief was keeping a low profile and was rarely seen in public.

Pakistan Muttahida Muslim League (PMML) said in a statement that Makki was a supporter of the ideology of Pakistan. Makki had provided money and resources to terrorists for the Mumbai terror attacks, in which 166 people were killed. During this period, 9 terrorists were killed, while one terrorist, Ajmal Kasab, was captured alive.

Lashkar carried out these big attacks in India

According to the UN website, Makki has held leadership positions in Lashkar and Jamaat-ud-Dawa. In such a situation, along with Hafiz Saeed, Makki is also believed to be behind the major attacks in India. Lashkar has carried out these major attacks in India…

1- Attack on Red Fort: On 22 December 2000, 6 terrorists of Lashkar-e-Taiba entered the Red Fort and opened fire on the security forces. Three people including two army soldiers were killed in this attack. In this terrorist attack, Rifleman Uma Shankar was martyred on the spot. Whereas, hero Ashok Kumar died in the hospital. A person named Abdullah Thakur also died in this attack.

2- Rampur Attack: Five Lashkar terrorists attacked the CRPF convoy on January 1, 2008. 7 CRPF jawans and a rickshaw puller lost their lives in this.

3- Lashkar had carried out the attack in Mumbai on 26/11. 10 terrorists had entered Mumbai through the Arabian Sea and fired indiscriminately at many places. 175 people were killed in this attack.

4- Srinagar Attack: On 12-13 February 2018, a Lashkar suicide bomber had entered the CRPF camp in Karan Nagar, Srinagar. During this time a soldier was martyred. While a policeman was injured.

5- Baramulla: On May 30, 2018, Lashkar terrorists killed three civilians in Baramulla.

6- Srinagar attack: On June 14, 2018, Rising Kashmir editor Sujaat Bukhari and two security guards were shot dead by Lashkar terrorists. Lashkar had taken responsibility for this attack.

7- Bandipora Attack: Lashkar terrorists had tried to infiltrate in Bandipora, Jammu and Kashmir, during which Indian Army soldiers had foiled their attempt. Four soldiers were martyred in this attack.

Makki was arrested by the Government of Pakistan on 15 May 2019. He was under house arrest in Lahore. In 2020, Makki was sentenced by a Pakistani court in the terror funding case.
