Congress Working Committee meeting is being held in Belagavi, Karnataka. All the party leaders including party president Mallikarjun Kharge, Rahul Gandhi have arrived to participate in it. Former Congress President Sonia Gandhi could not attend it. He has written a letter to the Congress Working Committee. It said, Mahatma Gandhi’s legacy is under threat in the current government. These organizations never fought for independence, but strongly opposed Mahatma Gandhi. These organizations created such a poisonous environment, which paved the way for the assassination of Mahatma Gandhi. These people glorify the murderers of Mahatma Gandhi.
Sonia Gandhi said, Gandhian institutions are being attacked at different places in the country. Therefore it is necessary that this meeting be called Neo Satyagraha meeting. Now it is our duty to reiterate our resolve to combat these forces with full force and determination. The issue of making our organization stronger will also arise today.
Sonia Gandhi said, this was a transformative milestone in the history of our country. Today we rededicate ourselves to preserving, protecting and promoting the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi. He has been and will remain our main source of inspiration. He shaped and guided all our notable leaders of that generation.
His legacy, he said, is under threat from those in power in New Delhi and the ideologies and institutions that nurture them. These organizations never fought for our freedom. He opposed Mahatma Gandhi. He created a poisonous environment, which led to his murder. They glorify their murderers.
