More than 15 hotels, restaurants and clubs have sought permission for New Year celebration party on the night of 31 December in the capital. Permission is also being sought to serve liquor one day during the party. An application for this has been filed in the Excise Department.
According to the guidelines issued by the administration and police, everyone is being given permission. But, a warning is being given to switch off the music system at 10 pm. At the same time, in case the music system is not switched off, the sound will have to be slowed down so much that its sound is not heard outside. The sound of the music system should not cause any problem to the people living nearby. A provision has been made to allow serving of liquor during the New Year party from 12.30 am to 1 am. On Tuesday, SSP Dr. Lal Umed Singh held a meeting of hotel, club and restaurant operators and gave information.
All the big hotels and restaurants where New Year programs are being organized in the city will be monitored through CCTV cameras. The intersections will be monitored through ITMS cameras. Those found driving three times or drunk will have their vehicles confiscated directly. Police have identified 20 such places in the city where ruckus is created in the New Year or youth reach there and consume drugs. 20 check points will be made at all these places to stop such people.
Stricter action will be taken
Drunk drivers will be tested using breath analyzers at 20 check points.
If hotels, restaurants, bars and dhabas are not closed on time, the license is cancelled.
Where the events will be held, the operators will have to make arrangements for parking.
FIR will be registered immediately against those who drink alcohol on the roads or in the car.
Information about those staying in the hotel will have to be maintained, if not maintained, action will be taken.
