After the rains in Delhi NCR, the air quality of the country’s capital was seen improving. The situation is similar in Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Apart from this, snowfall in Jammu and Kashmir and western disturbance led to rain in the plains of North India. According to India Meteorological Department (IMD), there is no possibility of rain in Delhi on Wednesday, but light rain may occur from Thursday evening. Due to this there is a possibility of increase in cold.
There will be clear weather in Delhi on Christmas Day, December 25, although there is a possibility of fog in some areas. There may be light drizzle from the night of 26th December. At the same time, it may change to light rain on 27th December. During this period, the maximum temperature of Delhi is expected to be 21 degrees Celsius and the minimum temperature is expected to be 8 degrees Celsius. Similarly, there may be light rain on 28th December and clear weather may return from 29th December.
The Meteorological Department has said that a western disturbance is active over Jammu and Kashmir and neighboring areas of Himachal Pradesh and a cyclonic circulation is also active in South Punjab and its surrounding areas. A new active western disturbance is likely to move towards the western Himalayan region and plains of northwest India from December 27.
Due to this, there is a possibility of light to moderate rain and snowfall in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand in the coming 24 hours. At the same time, there may be showers in Jammu and Kashmir also. Light to moderate rain may occur over Uttar Pradesh, northern parts of Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, coastal Andhra Pradesh, coastal Tamil Nadu, parts of Telangana, south Chhattisgarh and Andaman and Nicobar Islands. According to the Meteorological Department, light rain is also expected in Kerala and coastal Karnataka.
