Panchayat and Rural Development, Labor Minister Prahlad Singh Patel and Minister of State Smt. Radha Singh will attend a special program organized by Madhya Pradesh Rural Road Development Authority (MPRRDA) to commemorate “More than two decades of success of Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana”. The program will be organized on 24th December at Kushabhau Thackeray Convention Center Bhopal at 9:30 am.
Principal Secretary Mrs. Deepali Rastogi and Joint Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development, Amit Shukla will be present in the program. On this occasion, the achievements of the development work done in the rural areas of the state under the scheme by MPRRDA will also be shared. The work of PM Janman Yojana, bridge culvert construction, innovation momentum of the authority, e-route, connecting unconnected forest villages, adding missing links under PMGSY and the upcoming action plan will be discussed in detail.
In the program, presentations will be given by various subject experts on quality of construction work, innovation and use of technology, nanotechnology and advanced technologies like white topping and micro surfacing. During this, the challenges faced in the use of construction material, maintenance arrangements and implementation of schemes will also be discussed. Future strategies and goals of the scheme will also be shared.
State achieved unprecedented targets in PMGSY
Under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGY), the state has achieved excellent performance in the field of rural connectivity and has achieved 97.91 percent target. Under this scheme, a total of 20 thousand 227 routes were constructed in the state, whose total length is 89 thousand 612 kilometers. Also, 17,537 habitations were connected to main roads by constructing 1,377 major bridges. The first road in the country was constructed by Madhya Pradesh Authority under PM Janman Yojana. Under five years guarantee period (DLP), five years post maintenance (MTN), ten years post maintenance (PTN) and fifteen years post maintenance (FTN), regular maintenance of 27 thousand 67 routes whose length is 95 thousand 747 kilometers can be ensured. By achieving 91.40 percent satisfactory results in the inspection by the National Quality Monitor, the state has secured a place among the leading states with high inspection. Madhya Pradesh has been awarded by the Government of India for construction quality and maximum road length in the last three years. Under innovation in road construction, 10 thousand 290 km long roads were constructed in the state using waste plastic, which is the highest in the country. The e-Marg software developed by RRDA has been implemented across the country. Apart from this, the model developed for maintenance of roads after DLP is also being emulated across the country.
