US President Donald Trump has made a big announcement, he said that Indian-origin American entrepreneur and author Shriram Krishnan is being given a big responsibility regarding Artificial Intelligence (AI). Besides, he will also play an important role in American leadership.
Sriram Krishnan will take over as senior White House policy advisor on AI. Shriram Krishnan has already held important responsibilities in the teams of many big companies. This includes the names of Microsoft, Twitter, Yahoo!, Facebook and Snap etc. Trump has said that he will work with David Sacks, who will be the White House AI & Crypto Czar.

Who is Sriram Krishnan?
Sriram Krishnan was born in Chennai. He completed his B.Tech in Information Technology from SRM Engineering College in Kattankulathur, Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu. He moved to America in 2005 at the age of 21. His father worked in insurance. While his mother was a housewife. Krishnan has previously led product teams at Microsoft, Twitter (now X), Yahoo, Facebook and Snap. He is David O. Will work with Sachs. Trump has named David as ‘White House AI and Crypto Czar’.
Krishnan studied at SRM Valliamayi Engineering College in Kattankulathur, Tamil Nadu. He started his career at Microsoft, where he contributed to the development of Windows Azure. Worked on its API and services. He is the author of the book Programming Windows Azure for O’Reilly.
Krishnan joined Facebook in 2013, where he played a key role in growing the company’s mobile app download advertising business. Later he also worked at Snap. Krishnan worked at Twitter (now X) until 2019, where he collaborated with Elon Musk on restructuring the platform. Krishnan worked with Musk to revamp Twitter (now X) following the acquisition in 2022.
He became a general partner at Andreessen Horowitz (a16z) in 2021. Later in 2023 he led the firm’s first international office in London. The entrepreneur has also been an advocate of leveraging technology to solve challenges between AI-powered models, such as OpenAI’s ChatGPT and large internet platforms. He also gained recognition as the host of the podcast ‘The Aarti and Shriram Show’ in 2021. Krishnan works on it with his wife Aarti Ramamurthy.
