After this decision of the government, now children of 5th and 8th class will be promoted to the next class only if they pass the examination completely. Till now it was not mandatory for the children of class 5th and 8th to pass the examination to go to the next class.
Failed students will have to give exam within 2 months
Central Education Department Secretary Sanjay Kumar gave information about this decision of the government through a press conference. He told in PC that the government has decided that the students who fail in class 5th and 8th can re-examination within 2 months, but if they fail again then they will not be promoted to the next class. Besides, the government has also added a provision that such a child till class 8th will not be expelled from the school.
Steps taken to improve education
Education Department Secretary Sanjay Kumar further said that our effort is to take all possible and necessary measures to improve education and this decision has been taken keeping that in mind. After this decision, we have also decided that special attention will be given to those children in our schools who do not have special attachment to studies due to any reason and that is why we have decided to conduct the exam again soon for the children who come under this policy. Have decided.
The policy was implemented after the change in the Act
Let us tell you that after the end of ‘No Detention Policy’, more than 3000 schools of the Central Government will be affected by this decision. Kendriya Vidyalaya, Navodaya Vidyalaya and Sainik School come under the Central Government. The ‘No Detention Policy’ was implemented after the amendment in the Right to Education Act in 2019. This policy was also abolished by the Directorate of Education of Delhi Government this year. The Delhi Directorate of Education (DOE) has amended the existing policy for admissions in classes 6 to 8 in view of the abolition of ‘no detention policy’ in classes 5 and 8 by the government in March this year. Opportunity for re-examination within two months
According to this new system, failed students will get a chance to retake the exam within two months, but if students fail again, they will not be promoted to the next class. However, the government has also clarified that no students will be expelled from school till class 8.
