There is important news for bank users. In the new year, banks are going to be closed for 40 to 50 days from January to December. These include festivals, weekly holidays and second and fourth Saturday. Due to bank closure, many banking related works including check book pass book may be affected, however online services will continue, which you can use.
Actually, bank holidays in India include national holidays (gazetted holidays) and government holidays (both state and central). State government bank holidays vary from state to state, while central government bank holidays remain the same across the country. Apart from these, Indian banks remain closed on the second and fourth Saturday of every month. Apart from this, regional holidays Are related to a particular state or region. Just because a day is a bank holiday in one state does not mean that it will be a holiday in another state too.

When will we meet for long weekends?
There is a holiday on Saturday and Sunday on 11th and 12th January. If leave is taken on 13th January then you will get Makar Sankranti holiday on 14th. In such a situation, you can go on long weekend from 11th to 14th January. Holi is on 14th March and Saturday and Sunday are holidays on 15th and 16th February. In this way one can go on a long drive for three days. Similarly, 29th and 30th March are Saturday-Sunday and 31st March is the holiday of Eid-ul-Fitr. That means three holidays are coming together.
There will be two long weekends in April. Good Friday is on 12,13,14 and 18 April and Saturday and Sunday is on 19-20 April. After the Independence Day holiday on 15th August, there will be Saturday and Sunday holiday on 16th and 17th August. There is a holiday for Eid-e-Milad on 5th September, while there will be a holiday on 6th and 7th September on Saturday and Sunday.

Customers can use online services during bank holidays, because bank holidays have no effect on digital services like UPI, Mobile Banking, Internet Banking.
NET BANKING: You can use net banking through the bank’s website or mobile app. In this, the facility of money transfer, payment of bills and balance check is available.
Unified Payments Interface: Unified Payments Interface (UPI) is a secure way to transfer money. You just need to use UPI apps like Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm etc.
MOBILE BANKING: Through the bank’s mobile app on smartphone, you can avail many services like fund transfer, mobile recharge, utility bill payment etc.
ATM USE: ATMs are always available to withdraw money, check balance and get mini statements. You can also use facilities like cardless cash withdrawal in ATM.
