According to police sources, Saurabh Sharma had a team of about 12 people who had experience of extortion at transport check posts. In between, the videos of his people also went viral on different mediums of social media, then the matter had reached the top, but the whole matter was suppressed even before the written complaint.
An official of the Transport Department said on the condition of anonymity that Saurabh used to work very cautiously. He also had complete knowledge of noses. If there were any complaints from his people, he used his influence to suppress them.
Income tax department’s focus on Saurabh after builder
The Income Tax Department team has now increased its focus on Saurabh Sharma after making important revelations in the raid at the builder’s house. After receiving guidelines from Delhi, the Income Tax Department has started collecting information about gold and cash worth Rs 10 crore. After Saurabh returns to India from Dubai, he will be called for questioning.

Income Tax sources say that the discussions about returning the gold and money seized from a car parked on a farm land in Ratibad to the Lokayukta have now come to an end. After the meeting of top officials, it has been decided to hold the amount. Until complete information about the gold is obtained, the money and gold will remain with the Income Tax Department.

A few days ago, Lokayukta had raided the Bhopal residence and office of former transport constable Saurabh Sharma. Saurabh is originally from Gwalior.
The vehicle which was caught by the Income Tax team, contained 54 kg of gold and more than Rs 9 crore in cash. This car belonged to Chetan Singh Gaur, close to Saurabh. Saurabh has his in-laws house in Thatipur, Gwalior.
