Once again there has been a terrorist attack in Pakistan. Terrorists have targeted a security post. Militants attacked a security post in northwestern Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province early Saturday, killing 16 soldiers and injuring eight others, news agency PTI quoted security sources as saying.
Sources told the agency that the terrorists attacked Lita Sar post in Maken in South Waziristan district bordering Afghanistan. This is one of the biggest attacks on security forces in the last few months. The attack comes days after Pakistani security forces killed two terrorists in an intelligence-based operation in Sarogha area of the same district.
The problem has persisted for a decade
Law enforcement personnel responded to the alleged presence of terrorists and killed two terrorists, while two terrorists were captured in the operation in the first week of December. South Waziristan is one of seven semi-autonomous tribal areas where the army has been battling militants linked to banned organizations for more than a decade.
