Rajgarh
There was a stir in the SNCU i.e. Neonatal Intensive Care Unit of the district hospital when miscreants cut the pipe supplying oxygen, due to which the supply of oxygen in SNCU stopped. The breathing of 11 children who were on oxygen support was in trouble. After the alarm was raised, the team arrived and immediately started oxygen supply from the cylinders as an alternative arrangement.
According to the information, there is SNCU ward in the premises of Rajgarh District Hospital itself. Newborn babies are kept in this when they are in pain.
In such a situation, 23 children were admitted in the ward. Oxygen is supplied through pipeline from the oxygen plant located near the PM room in the ward.
A total of 23 children were admitted in the hospital on Tuesday-Wednesday night. Due to deteriorating health of some, 11 children were kept on oxygen support.
Under this, oxygen was being supplied from the plant to the ward through pipes. In the night, unknown miscreants cut about 10-15 feet long pipe from near the plant. The supply in SNCU ward was stopped due to cutting of pipes by miscreants. Due to stoppage of supply, the health of children started getting affected.
Investigation revealed that the miscreants had entered the premises by cutting the iron mesh installed for security.
Children cried when supply stopped, alarm alerted
As soon as the supply of oxygen stopped due to pipe theft, the health of the children started getting adversely affected. People present at the spot said that due to the crying of all the children together, it seemed that something had happened. On the other hand, due to stoppage of supply, an alarm was also raised to alert the hospital management. Sensing the danger due to the sounding of the alarm, the SNCU team including the doctor immediately reached the ward and the situation was brought under control.
Cylinders were kept for option, valves were started
As soon as the valve was turned on, the supply of oxygen started and the children came back to normal condition. The special thing is that to avoid dangers, the team has kept cylinders as an option, when the valves of which are turned on, oxygen is supplied to the children present on the proper beds. Did the same thing on Wednesday morning also.
Thefts of pipes are happening every day.
It is not that theft has happened for the first time in the district hospital, but thefts have happened many times before also. Recently, 20 days ago on November 28, miscreants had stolen copper wire from the same oxygen plant. At that time, a pipe had been laid from the plant for the new building. The pipe that had been prepared was stolen by miscreants at night. Although the oxygen supply in that pipe was not turned on at the moment, but this time the supply was on in the pipe that was stolen, due to which the children faced problems.
