There was a lot of uproar in both the houses during the winter session of Parliament. By the end of the winter session, there was a ruckus between BJP and Congress. As soon as Lok Sabha proceedings had started on Friday, the last day of this session, opposition MPs started creating ruckus over the alleged insult to Babasaheb Ambedkar. After this, Speaker Om Birla asked the MPs to go to their places. He said that the national anthem is about to start. Lok Sabha was adjourned sine die after the national anthem in the House.

On the last day, the Lok Sabha has approved the proposal to send two bills related to holding simultaneous elections in the country to the Joint Committee of the Parliament. In view of the uproar, the proceedings of Rajya Sabha were also adjourned till 12 noon. Opposition MPs gathered at Vijay Chowk on the last day of the Parliament session to protest here on Friday against the “derogatory” remarks made by Home Minister Amit Shah in reference to Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar. A day earlier, when opposition MPs were trying to protest by entering the Parliament House complex, there was a scuffle and BJP MP Pratap Sarangi got injured. Sarangi had alleged that she got hurt because of Rahul Gandhi’s push.

Opposition parties used to protest near the Makar Gate of Parliament during the winter session of Parliament, but after Thursday’s incident of pushing and shoving, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla directed that no political party, MP or group of MPs should protest near any part of Parliament. Can’t even demonstrate at the door. Yesterday, opposition members took out a march in protest against Home Minister Amit Shah’s remarks related to Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, while BJP MPs protested accusing Congress of insulting Babasaheb.

Near the ‘Makar Gate’ of the Parliament House, members of the ruling party and the opposition came in front of each other and raised slogans. Bharatiya Janata Party alleges that Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi pushed and pushed due to which its senior MP Pratap Sarangi got injured. BJP MP Mukesh Rajput has also been injured.

On the other hand, Congress claims that BJP MPs prevented its President Mallikarjun Kharge, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi and several women MPs from entering the Parliament House and heckled them. Congress and several other opposition parties have alleged that Shah insulted Babasaheb during his address on Tuesday while replying to the two-day discussion in the Rajya Sabha on ’75 years of glorious journey of the Constitution of India’. The main opposition party also released a video excerpt of Shah’s address, in which the Home Minister can be heard taking a dig at the opposition, saying, ‘It has become a fashion now – Ambedkar, Ambedkar…. If you had taken this much name of God, you would have gone to heaven for seven births. On the other hand, Bharatiya Janata Party alleged that Congress always insulted Babasaheb and ensured that he lost the elections.
