On the night of 16.12.2024, information was received from village Kirar (Amarkantak Road) under Police Station Kotwali, Anuppur that a 20-year-old deranged girl, who was able to tell only her name as “Asha”, had reached the village wandering in a helpless state. . On this information, Superintendent of Police Anuppur Moti Ur Rehman took immediate action and sent the women police force to the spot.

The women police team supported the girl and got her admitted to the One Stop Centre, District Hospital Complex, Anuppur and ensured arrangements for her accommodation and food and water.

T.I. Under the leadership of Kotwali Inspector Arvind Jain, Assistant Sub-Inspector Santosh Pandey, female constables Kunti Sharma and Janaki Baiga together conducted the medical examination of the deranged young woman. After this the case was presented before the Honorable Chief Judicial Magistrate, Anuppur. As per the instructions, the young woman was admitted to the State Mental Health Hospital, Bilaspur (Chhattisgarh) on Friday, where her care is being ensured.

Superintendent of Police Anuppur has appealed to the citizens to immediately inform the police if they get information about any destitute woman, so that they can be given safe shelter and necessary help.

It is also noteworthy that the One Stop Center (Sakhi) is being operated by the Women and Child Development Department in the District Hospital Anuppur campus. This center provides free facilities like temporary shelter, police assistance, legal aid, medical services and counseling to women and girls.

The One Stop Center aims to provide integrated support and protection to women and girls. Here emergency and non-emergency assistance is provided to the victims at one place.
