According to Collector Neeraj Kumar Singh, the income of the temple was declining for the last few months. After which the administration started investigation. Investigation revealed that two temple employees Vinod Choukse and Rakesh Srivastava were illegally collecting money from the devotees. Online transactions worth lakhs of rupees have been found in their bank accounts.
Strict steps were taken after news of corruption in Mahakaleshwar temple surfaced. An FIR has been lodged against the culprits, and their services have been terminated. An FIR was registered in this matter at Mahakal police station on Thursday. The administration has confirmed that both the employees have been arrested and the temple committee is investigating their involvement. There may be more big revelations in this matter soon.
