Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the touch of water has always been energizing. The confluence of rivers not only purifies the land but also gives new life to civilizations. He described the occasion of laying of MOA and foundation stone for Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC) project as historic and wonderful. Dr. Yadav thanked Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for ending the 20 years of wait of both the states and called him the Bhagiratha of the modern era. Prime Minister Shri Modi, while addressing the function, also called Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav as “laadla”.

Prime Minister Shri Modi said that the Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal river linking project will provide irrigation water as well as drinking water to Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan. Prime Minister Shri Modi said that the PKC project will keep the rivers of both the states eternally green and the land associated with these rivers will become cultivable. The PKC project will provide 3,000 MCM (million cubic meters) of water to Madhya Pradesh and 4,103 MCM (million cubic meters) to Rajasthan.

Prime Minister Shri Modi, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, Chief Minister of Rajasthan Shri Bhajanlal Sharma and Union Jal Shakti Minister Shri C.R. The foundation stone of the first phase of the scheme was laid along with the MOA for the project on 17 December 2024 by officials of the Central Government and both the State Governments in the presence of Patil. The project is targeted to be implemented in the next 8 years.

These districts of Madhya Pradesh will get benefits
PKC project will benefit 3217 villages from 22 projects in Guna, Morena, Shivpuri, Bhind, Sheopur, Ujjain, Sehore, Mandsaur, Indore, Dewas, Agar Malwa, Shajapur and Rajgarh districts of the state. Under the project, 21 water structures including 17 dams and 4 barrages will be constructed. 6.13 lakh hectares of land in Malwa and Chambal region will become green. Also, drinking water will be available to more than 40 lakh population.

The old Chambal right main canal and distribution system will be renovated.
In the PKC project, the approximately 60 years old Chambal right main canal and distribution system will also be renovated and modernized. With this, water will be provided to farmers for irrigation in 3 lakh 62 thousand hectare area of ​​Bhind, Morena and Sheopur of Madhya Pradesh.

Ken-Betwa project will be gifted on 25th December
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that on December 25, 2024, Prime Minister Shri Modi will gift the Ken-Betwa river linking project to Madhya Pradesh. Prime Minister Shri Modi will lay the foundation stone of the first phase of the scheme in Khajuraho (Chhatarpur). With this, people of Bundelkhand region of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh will get irrigation and drinking water.
