Jashpur Police has succeeded in arresting two members of the interstate thief gang. Both these accused are residents of Odisha and along with their other associates, had carried out several theft incidents in Jashpur district. According to the information, on the night of 13-14 December 2024, SHO of Kansabel police station. A suspicious vehicle Swift (No. O.R. 14 R 7305) was spotted during check patrolling by Neeta Kurre and her team.
The driver did not stop the vehicle during questioning and tried to drive away at high speed. The police immediately chased the suspicious vehicle, after which the driver drove it off the road and fled away. During the search of the vehicle, 03 tyres, 01 mobile, gas cutter, flywheel, driving license and other tools were recovered. On December 17, 2024, local residents Akash Yadav, Ritesh Gupta and Putlori Malkondaye lodged a report at Kansabel police station that Stepney was stolen from their pickup vehicle on the night of 13-14 December. When the police showed the seized Stepney, the theft was confirmed. SP Shashi Mohan Singh formed a team under the leadership of Deputy Superintendent of Police Vijay Singh Rajput to arrest the accused, in which the cyber cell was also included. Within a few hours the police arrested the accused Mohd. Kamruddin Hussain (28 years) and Mohd. Karim Hussain (26 years) was arrested from Kunkuri area. During interrogation, the accused told that with their help the other two accused are absconding, efforts are on to arrest them.
