Chautu Netam became a successful farmer by adopting advanced agricultural techniques

Raipur,

Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Dev Sai, who is sensitive towards the farmers of the state, is determined and is continuously making efforts for the welfare of the farmers and their progressive progress. Positive results of government schemes are also being seen at the ground level. Farmers of Kondagaon district are also making their mark as prosperous and happy farmers today by taking advantage of various schemes.

Positive change brought about by Aatma Yojana

Mr. Choutu Netam, 67, a progressive farmer of Chipavand village located in Kondagaon development block of the district, has set a new example of success in the field of agriculture through his hard work and latest agricultural techniques. Due to improved farming on his agricultural land of 03 acres 54 decimals, he has not only increased his income but has also become a source of inspiration for other farmers. Earlier Choutu Netam used to cultivate Ragi in the traditional way and sowed the seeds in the old way. In the Kharif season, sowing seeds through spraying method in traditional farming was not providing much profit in production. After this, the Agriculture Department trained him in new techniques under the Aatma Scheme, then he decided to make changes in the cultivation of Ragi. In the Rabi season, Choutu Netam adopted the method of row sowing of Ragi crop, which not only increased the production of his crop but also increased his income.

Chautu Ram on the path of progress through advanced agriculture

Chautu Ram said that with the row sowing method, seed distribution and irrigation have become more organized and controlled, due to which the production of ragi crop has doubled. Earlier, where Ragi was cultivated in an area of 0.405 hectares, the production was only 4 quintals and the income was only Rs 12 thousand. But now after adopting new technology in agriculture through seed production program through row sowing method, the production increased to 9 quintals, from which Rs 45 thousand was earned. Thus, with increase in production their income also increased.

For Chautu Netam, this change due to the government’s plan was not only a change in the technique of agriculture, but also brought a positive change in his life. The technical guidance and training received from the Agriculture Department proved to be very beneficial for him. The program of seed production through row sowing method not only gave them more production, but also increased their income by taking advantage of government schemes and have moved forward on the path of progress in the field of farming. Shri Chautu Ram also appealed to other farmers of the district to take advantage of the scheme and get training and adopt advanced techniques in agriculture.
