MP Alok Sharma once again became vocal in Parliament regarding Bhopal city. During Zero Hour in the Lok Sabha on Monday, he prominently raised the issue of setting up Raja Bhoj Research Institute in Bhopal. MP Sharma said that Bhopal has a glorious history of one thousand years. The rich culture, civilization and traditions here are invaluable heritage. He asked the Culture Minister through the Lok Sabha Speaker whether there is an idea of setting up a research institute in the name of Rajbhoj in Bhopal under the National Culture Fund of the government? If yes, what are the details thereof? And if not, then when will a research institute be established in Bhopal in the name of Raja Bhoj. MP Sharma requested the Lok Sabha Speaker that Bhopal has a glorious culture. Our Bhopal is the Bhopal of Raja Bhoj. Our Bhopal is the Bhopal of Emperor Ashoka. Our Bhopal is the Bhopal of Chandragupta Maurya. Our Bhopal is the Bhopal of Pratyarvanshas. Our Bhopal is Rani Kamlapati, Bhopal of Gonds. Please tell if there is any action plan of the government to bring the real heritage of Bhopal to Vishwa Patel.
It is noteworthy that in the past also, MP Alok Sharma has been raising the issue in various forums regarding preserving the heritage of Bhopal and the rich history of the period of Raja Bhoj and Queen Kamlapati. The big pond built by Raja Bhoj is the lifeline of the city. Ponds should be conserved. A huge statue of Raja Bhoj has been installed here. The same place where Queen Kamalapati had committed Jauhar to protect her identity and honour. At that place of the small pond, Alok Sharma, when he was the Mayor of Bhopal, had constructed a beautiful arch bridge along with the installation of a huge statue of Rani Kamalapati.
