At just 14, Anika Dubey, popularly known as the “Golden Girl of Pune”, has achieved an extraordinary feat: she has made the Indian team for the Asian Squash Team Championships, scheduled to be held in Hong Kong in February 2025 . This achievement makes her the youngest player from Maharashtra to represent India in such a prestigious international tournament.
Anika’s reaching this point is no less than an inspiration. With three national titles to her name, she has become the most successful junior squash player from Pune, Maharashtra, setting new records and paving a path for others. His dedication, discipline and love for the game is evident in every match he plays, which has established him as one of India’s brightest young talents. Anika said, playing for India is like a dream come true. It’s an honor to represent my country and showcase the hard work I’ve put in over the years.
His coach Abhinav Sinha has been a guiding force in his journey. Known for his calm demeanor and sharp tactical insight, Abhinav has shaped Anika into a well-rounded player ready to take on the world stage. As February 2025 approaches in Hong Kong, Anika is training hard for the Asian Team Championships. She takes the responsibility of representing India on the international stage seriously and is determined to give her best performance.
