The delegation of Madhya Pradesh Beedi Industry Association met Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav and discussed the issues related to employment opportunities in the beedi industry and encouraging compliant beedi manufacturers.

The delegation led by Beedi Industry Association Secretary Arjun Khanna, who met Chief Minister Dr. Yadav in the Chief Minister’s Room in the Assembly, told that beedi manufacturing is a completely labor-based cottage village industry, which requires minimum capital or infrastructure. Giving suggestions to increase the quantity and quality of beedi production from high quality and grade tendu leaves of the state, the union requested to increase the subsidy on per standard bag of tendu leaves. Representatives of the union said that through production based incentives, the state can be strengthened as a center of organized and regulated beedi production. This will also help in creating more employment opportunities.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government will make every possible effort to implement the suggestions of Madhya Pradesh Beedi Industries Association.
